2Bundles
My doctoral dissertation
(University of California-Riverside, 2006)
is Higher Gauge Theory I: 2-Bundles,
which categorifies the concept of fibre bundle
to the (algebraically) higher-dimensional concept of 2bundle
and proves the equivalence (in appropriate cases) of 2bundles and gerbes.
This is part of the work
by my advisor John Baez
on higher
gauge theory.
For most purposes, the best version to read (and cite)
is the most recent version
on the arXiv.
I have some other versions of the paper, in DjVu,
(which can be viewed on almost any operating system
using DjVuLibre):
- in the asinine format
required by the UCR Graduate Division
(twice as many pages
and missing the index of symbols, which just would not fit);
- the bleeding-edge alpha version
(with Exercises for myself —or other active researchers—
and many incomplete sections, but fewer typos).
Other file formats may be available upon request.
