# Readings and homework

I will assign readings listed below. Most readings will have associated exercises due in class the next day. Unless otherwise specified, all readings and exercises are from the 4th Edition of Elementary & Intermediate Algebra written by Sullivan et al and published by Prentice-Hall (Pearson).

• Problem due: Simplify these two algebraic expressions: 2(3x + 5) + 7x, and x7(5x3)2. Point out the one place where the artihmetical calculations in these two problems are significantly different.
