Quizzes
In most weeks, 15 minutes of class on Thursday
will be a quiz taken from the homework due since the previous quiz.
There will be no quizzes
on the midterm exam day
or on the first or last day of class,
so there will be 8 quizzes in all.
If (for any reason) we cannot hold a quiz as scheduled,
then we'll make it up on the next class day.
These will be like the homework,
especially the Practice Problems.
In fact, often the homework will be harder;
the trickiest sort of homework question won't appear on quizzes or exams.
For a quiz, you should not use any materials
other than those I provide for it.
You certainly should not talk to other people.
Calculators will sometimes be allowed, although you shouldn't really need them;
all of the numbers in the problems will be simple.
When I return a quiz, I'll post my solutions here;
see the downloading help
if you have trouble reading them.
(If you took a Quiz late, then you may have taken a different version.)
