# Exams

There will be two exams, each covering half of the material of the course. They will be like the quizzes, but longer and with new problems (not problems from the book).

The midterm exam is on November 4 Thursday, to prepare for the midterm grades that come out the following week. Note that the version you took may be either of the versions below.

• Date taken: November 4 Thursday;
• Lectures covered: October 5 through November 2;
• Sections of the textbook: 2.2&2.3, 3.1–3.6, 4.1, 4.3&4.4;
• Calculators, notes, textbook: OK;

• From the Chapter 2 Review (pages 202–204): 1–6.c&d, 7–16, 27–44, 47;
• From the Chapter 3 Review (pages 271–274): 3–16, 25–36, 41–70, 74.a–c, 76.a;
• From the Chapter 4 Review (pages 318–320): 1–30, 35–37, 43, 44;
• Practice exam (longer than the real exam):
• From the Chapter 2 Test (page 204): 3–7, 10;
• From the Chapter 3 Test (pages 274&275): 2–5, 7, 8, 10, 12;
• From the Chapter 4 Test (pages 320&321): 1–7, 9, 10;

The final exam is on December 14 Tuesday, so that I can give you feedback on the last day of class.
