Schedule

The first day of class (January 8 Wednesday), I'll discuss the administrative aspects of the course and give a brief introduction to the basic ideas of Trigonometry. If you miss this day, then you shouldn't suffer too much for it, but you'll want to get the administrative information from me. The next day (January 10 Friday), the class will begin in earnest.

We'll begin with a review of some concepts from College Algebra, especially material in Sections 2.1 and 2.4 of the textbook that often isn't covered in that class. Then we'll cover Chapters 7–10 from the textbook, except skipping Sections 8.7 and 10.3. Here is the complete list of covered sections: 2.1, 2.4, 7.1–8, 8.1–6, 9.1–5, 10.1&2, 10.4&5. I'll probably go pretty much in the textbook's order, although I might swap a few sections around; I'll announce this ahead of time if I do. (As a matter of fact, we're skipping 9.4&5. To follow what we've covered so far, the easiest thing to do is to check the homework page.) It's a lot of material for 10 weeks, so the class has to move pretty fast; please talk to me early if you need help!

The last day to drop the course with a full refund is January 15 Wednesday; the last day to drop at all is February 18 Tuesday. By February 13 Thursday, your midterm grade estimates should be available on WebAdvisor; your final grades should be available there on March 24 Monday. Follow your grades on Moodle if you want to know them faster.
