The official textbook is the 13th Edition of Calculus for Business, Economics, Life Sciences, and Social Sciences written by Barnett et al and published by Prentice Hall (Pearson). In addition to a quick review of Chapter 1, we cover Chapters 2 through 6. I also recommend Calculus Made Easy (Silvanus Thompson, 1910); we cover almost all of that, except for Chapters XV&XVI. Here is the complete list of covered sections from the official textbook: 2.1–7, 3.1–7, 4.1–6, 5.1–5, 6.1–4. Here they are again, in the approximate order in which I intend to cover them: 2.3, 2.5, 3.4, 3.3, 3.5, 4.2, 2.7, 3.6, 2.1, 2.2, 4.3, 4.5, 4.6, 4.1, 4.4, 3.1, 3.2, 3.7, 5.1, 5.5, 5.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.1, 6.2, 5.3, 5.4, 2.4, 2.6. I'll announce it ahead of time if I change this order further. (For the schedule of due dates for assignments, check the homework page.)
The last day to drop the course with a full refund is July 21 Tuesday; the last day to drop at all is August 24 Monday. By August 20 Thursday, your midterm grade estimates should be available on WebAdvisor; your final grades should be available there on September 25 Friday, or on September 24 Thursday if you're graduating this quarter. Follow your grades on Moodle if you want to know them faster.
