Schedule

The first day of class (October 1 Monday), I'll discuss the administrative aspects of the course and give a brief introduction to the basic ideas of Calculus. If you miss this day, then you shouldn't suffer too much for it, but you'll want to get the administrative information from me. The next day (October 2 Tuesday), the class will begin in earnest.

Roughly speaking, we cover Chapters 2 through 5 of the official textbook, plus the first half of Chapter 6. However, I won't go entirely in the textbook's order, and I will include some review from Chapter 1 as needed. I will cover sections in this order: 1.1, 2.2–6, 2.1, 3.1–3, 3.6, 3.5, 1.6, 3.8&9, 3.4, 3.10, 3.7, 3.11, 4.1, 4.3&4, 4.2, 4.6&7, 5.2, 5.1, 5.3, 4.8, 5.4–6, 6.3, 6.1&2.

The last day to drop the course with a full refund is October 9 Tuesday; the last day to drop at all is November 9 Friday. By November 6 Tuesday, your midterm grade estimates should be available on WebAdvisor; your final grades should be available on December 18 Tuesday.
