Welcome to the home page for Section ES31 of MATH-1600 (Calculus 1) at Southeast Community College in the Fall term of 2013. I am Toby Bartels, the instructor.

Assignments

If you miss a homework assignment, then you can find it here. Eventually some solutions to graded homework will show up here too.

Attendance (taken every day);
Homework (assigned about every other day);
Final exam (December 13 Friday).

Although only homework and the final exam contribute directly to your grade, attendance is also important.

Resources

The official textbook for the course is the 2nd Edition of University Calculus: Early Transcendentals published by Addison Wesley (Pearson). You should be able to get this at the bookstore, and most homework problems will come from it. (This same book is used for MATH-1700 and MATH-2080 too, so you might want to check all three shelves in the bookstore.) If you pay for it, you can also use MyMathLab with Course ID bartels89881; this is optional.

I also have some lecture notes, hand-outs, links, and so forth. If you missed class, then you might be able to find a substitute here. But there is no guarantee that everything will show up!
