Schedule

The first day of class (April 1 Wednesday), I'll discuss the administrative aspects of the course and give a brief introduction to the ideas of multivariable Calculus. If you miss this day, then you shouldn't suffer too much for it, but you'll want to get the administrative information from me. The next day (April 2 Thursday), the class will begin in earnest.

The official textbook is the 2nd Edition of University Calculus: Early Transcendentals published by Addison Wesley (Pearson). In addition to a review of most of Chapter 11, we cover the first half of Chapter 12, as well as all of Chapters 13 through 15. Here is the complete list of covered sections: 11.1–5, 12.1–3, 13.1–8, 14.1–8, 15.1–8. Here they are again, in the approximate order in which I intend to cover them: 11.1–5, 12.1&2, 13.1&2, 15.1, 12.3, 15.2, 13.3–8, 14.1&2, 14.5, 14.3, 14.6, 14.8, 14.4, 14.7, 15.5&6, 15.3&4, 15.7&8. I'll announce it ahead of time if I change this order further. (For the schedule of due dates for assignments, check the homework page.)

The last day to drop the course with a full refund is April 9 Wednesday; the last day to drop at all is May 13 Tuesday. By May 8 Thursday, your midterm grade estimates should be available on WebAdvisor; your final grades should be available there on June 16 Monday. Follow your grades on Moodle if you want to know them faster.
