Examples of vector fields

Here are some examples of graphs of vector fields taken from an older textbook:

F(x,y) = −yi + xj

v = xi

v = xj

v = −xi − yj = −r

The vector field F(r) = r

F(x,y) = i + yj

Flow lines for the Gulf stream

The vector field v = −sinθi + cosθj

v = −yi − xj

F(x,y) = i + xj
